lyrics

The first rule not to make waves
it’s the new punishment language.
Once the murder’s violence was reflected
on the convict’s body, for all to see.
The ruler’s vengeance
was irrational and random violence
a show for the masses
which was uneconomic for the State.

Look around and what do you see?
Head down crowds and candid clothes.
Long lined of men and women,
order and strictness for a better society.
It all seems so perfect, so ideal,
Now it is how we always wanted
the superstructure made us stable.
Today the punishment’s language
is the new panoptic society.
The jail is a smaller part
of a wider prison system.

“The human body was entering a machinery of power
that explores it, breaks it down and rearranges it. A
‘political anatomy’, which was also a ‘mechanics of
power’, was being born; it defined how one may have
a hold over others’ bodies, not only so that they may
do what one wishes, but so that they may operate
as one wishes, with the techniques, the speed and
the efficiency that one determines.
Thus discipline produces subjected and practiced
bodies, ‘docile’ bodies”.*

Look around and what do you see?
Head down crowds, candid clothes.
Long lined of men and women,
order and strictness for a better society.
It all seems so perfect, so ideal,
(as desired the world has changed,
as desired the world has flowered).
Now it is how we always wanted
the superstructure nullified us.
