while wars were on the peak of insanity.
The night was day because of the flames
that burned up along the ways.
Streets once covered by smiling people
have now the colour of burnt bodies.
The air we once breathed
has now the texture of suffocating ash.
Deceived by a promise

a state of things brought to essence.

who supported each other
vigilant, waiting for the new day
under cover from enemy fire.

memories of a time
that doesn’t belong to us anymore,
fragile dreams broken by the dust we breath.

if only we had refused to listen to them
maybe we’d have continued our life
